Niagara Foot®

Innovation

The Niagara Foot® Model 1 is an inexpensive, high-energy, durable prosthetic foot intended for the active individual. Designed by Robert Gabourie of Niagara Prosthetics & Orthotics International Ltd and a team of engineers from Queen’s University (Kingston, Ontario), the Niagara Foot provides superior function and energy-return capabilities at an affordable cost. Mechanical testing and field trials surpassed international standards.

The Niagara Foot® has been used in Nigeria (Leprosy Mission Canada), Vietnam (Children of Vietnam) and Guatemala (Samaritan’s Purse). Research is ongoing for Model 2.
